Prep (5 to 11years)
Prep School - A day in the life...
At 8:40 our teachers join us in the playground and stay with us until the bell goes for registration at 8.55. We follow our teachers up the fabulous staircase to our classrooms.
Our morning lessons begin at 9:00 and usually consist of English and Maths. During these lessons we are always involved in practical activities or discussion and we are all encouraged to help and support each other and share our ideas and thoughts. At the end of the lesson we always self-assess our work with a traffic light to show how well we have understood. Our teachers always give feedback and support when needed, which helps us with the next stage of our learning.
Break time starts at 11:00, where we have time to meet our friends from other classes, play games and catch up with friends. We have a healthy snack and relax before the beginning of the next lesson.
After break, it is back into the classroom for the remainder of our morning lessons, which are often Science or Modern Languages.
At 12:30, we are certainly ready for our lunch and we enjoy sitting down with our friends and teachers and talking about our news. During lunchtime play, we make great use of the timber trail and play lots of football and netball. Some of us are playground buddies who support the teachers to make sure everyone is following our agreed playground rules.
In the afternoon, we are engaged in a range of activities such as History, Geography, P.E., Verbal Reasoning, R.E., Art and Design and dance. Our teachers always include our ideas and interests in their planning. We are always encouraged to present our work in the very best way we can and we are very proud to receive our pen licence.
We love to represent our school in different activities including cross country, dance, swimming, orienteering, football and netball, where we are encouraged to support each other and strive to be the very best we can.
At the end of the day, we can relax in a variety of after school clubs including Art, Virtual Reality, sports, horse riding, homework or spending time with our friends in Late Club.
